CIEL is THE PLACE to go for a night out with friends. The atmosphere is unreal, the service is amazing and the servers are very attentive. Good music, lots of entertainment and variety that makes you feel like you’re partying in Miami or Tulum. The management goes above and beyond to make this experience unforgettable and the servers come forward with the best energy. Truly enjoyed every moment of it and will make sure to go in for more celebrations and nights out. 10000/10 recommend to anyone looking to host a group or to even go in for an intimate dinner and ambiance. This is my 5th time at CIEL and I will be coming back again.
My friends and I took advantage of Houston Restaurant Week and made a reservation. CIEL, DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The atmosphere is amazing. There was a Live singer, dancers and a DJ that played music in between the singers sessions. The food was excellent. We all ordered off of the restaurant week menu, which was a 3 course meal...appetizers, main course & dessert. The Wagyu sushi roll was amazing. We ordered a variety of entries, all of which were very tasty. The service was excellent. Our waitress, Gina ,was nothing short of AWESOME! I would definitely suggest this restaurant if you want an EXPERIENCE and fine dining.
The service and atmosphere were spectacular. Megan and Alan are excellent servers. The entertainment (Dancers and singer) were a nice touch. Especially for a Thursday evening. The drinks were also great. The only 4 star experience was the food. It was good, but ultimately forgettable. But overall everything was good enough to warrant a return trip.
I have never been in a restaurant and felt this way! Somebody told me they were acting racist but I could not believe it until I experienced it! The racism is very clear, from the reservation emails when you have an "ethnic name" rather than a " white or european name", to the seating arrangement (all the black folks in the back with the worse view, plus a curtain to literally cut isolate you from the rest of the restaurant. The food was average (close to subpar) for the price. The ambiance is good though. Only come if you want to drink champagne because the cocktails are hit-and-miss, and party without minding a bit of "special treatment" if you are black. Also, they refused for us to bring our birthday cake inside, and left it outside at the front desk until somebody from our party saw it. We later saw non-black people entering right after us with their birthday cake in hand. I have more stories. Will never come back.
Dinner and a show? Say less. Be ready for flavorful, delicious, and playful plates that truly can cater to everyone. One must be ready to have fun and enjoy the vibe this place has to offer. Everyone that we have encountered has been lovely and are there to provide the best service, but still have a good time with you. I strongly suggest to ask for Michael, James, and Julia!
SPOILER ALERT: The singer and dancers that perform throughout the night will leave you in astonishment.
Oh, and don't you forget the dessert platter. A+++++++
The short summary is disappointed, way overpriced and overrated. I was looking forward to visiting Ciel after hearing mixed reviews by friends and while the place is gorgeous and has a good sound system with average service, thats where it ends. The drinks at $20+ each should be amazing but they're definitely average. I decided to try a basic margarita instead and it was horrible as tasted like the sweetest margarita mix ever and no tequila ($22 as well). Moving on to the food, the Oysters are amazing as we ordered both versions but are they worth $11/oyster? Umm probably not. I was excited about the sushi platter as for $180 I expected a wonderful presentation and selection. This turned out to be the biggest joke of the night as you can see in the picture attached it was basically 3 rolls, 4 nigiri and a few pieces of sashimi. The service was decent although there were times where tracking down the waitress was difficult and the assistant couldn't take orders or anything. Oh and there is an automatic 20% service charge added which is probably why the service is just average since three's no incentive to impress. The music is loud so be prepared for minimal conversation.
So in summary, lousy drinks, average service and food that is way way overpriced for the quality and portion size for sure.
10/10 the best restaurant experience in Houston! From the service to the experience, everything was made to make you feel like a VIP guest. We had the wonderful pleasure of having Gina as our server and I cannot even begin to explain the absolute amazing experience we had with her. Gina welcomed us with a great vibe and wonderful etiquette. Will definitely be requesting Gina again for future reservations. Overall, an amazing miami-like ambiance. so glad to have spent my 21st birthday at this wonderful establishment
The place was a great place for the buddies and I to celebrate a birthday. Good drinks, solid food. And boy was the entertainment amazing. Even got up and started partying towards the end of the night. Something special though that caught my eye was the drinks really, these displays and performances were definitely fun to see
